Oscar Piastri claimed his first points in Formula 1® – finishing eighth at his home Grand Prix".
The McLaren F1® Team driver started the race in P16 but an eventful race meant he enjoyed his best finish in Formula 1® yet. The first-year driver produced an excellent race to cross the line in P9 after a wild and action packed race with two restarts 8 three red flags. A penalty for Carlos Sainz meant the order moved up a place and Piastri was classified in P8 -an excellent finish for the young driver who claimed his first points in Formula 1®.
